According to Eustis City Manager Ron Neibert, the idea to bring a skate park to Eustis was born when a group of young people approached and made a presentation to city commissioners about the need for such a park in town. Commissioners eventually approved a plan for the skate park! The skate park is about 10,00 sq ft and consists of a street plaza and backyard pool styled bowl. The bowl resembles an empty backyard pool and will be joined by a walkway to a plaza-style street course that will incorporate several different levels and features, including hand rails, edges, manual pads, a step-up, a channel and a flat bar. “We want to showcase the new facility,” Neibert said. “We’ll let the high-level skateboarders and even the lower-level skateboarders come in and compete in the new park, enjoy themselves and try to get an introduction to our new facility.”
